Situation
A new consultancy with no ready made client list realised
that it would never gain clients through advertising and needed
to find a way to get itself known.
Solution
Research shows that the three best ways for professional services
to market themselves are to publish, present and network.
As publishing and presenting were not immediate opportunities,
it was decided networking would be the most expedient method.
The consultancy launched itself with a party, choosing a venue
that reflected its logo and inviting its few existing clients,
former work colleagues, friends, and professional contacts.
Result
The event cost far less than any advertising campaign ever
would have and every piece of business from that day can somehow
be traced back to that event and the power of networking.
